About Slow Tale Time

Slow Tale Time is an interactive digital storybook for children aged 3 to 7, featuring the gentle adventures of Freddie the tortoise and his older brother OJ. Together they explore a watercolour garden through every season — making friends with Dot the ladybird, Hazel the squirrel, Bramble the hedgehog, Luna the moth, Hum the bumblebee, Twitch the rabbit, and Robin the robin along the way.

Each story is hand-illustrated in a soft watercolour style and narrated aloud so children can read along at their own pace. The app is designed to slow things down — encouraging calm, mindful reading rather than fast-paced screen time. A built-in night mode softens colours for bedtime, and a seasonal badge collection rewards children for exploring every tale through spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

The first story is free to enjoy forever. Every additional adventure can be unlocked individually for 50p, or the whole collection of twelve stories can be unlocked at once for £4.50 — a one-time payment that lasts a lifetime. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no in-app pressure.

Slow Tale Time is built by a small, independent team of storytellers, illustrators, and parents who believe that the best stories are the ones children return to again and again.
